Naomi takes a non-judgmental approach to each individual and provides a space for healing and growth using the fundamentals of talk-therapy. Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing Therapy (EMDR) is used to process and work through difficult or traumatic events while Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) is used for progress and conditioning of coping skills for moving forward. Specializing encompasses trauma, anxiety disorders, depression disorders, anticipatory and post grief counseling, adoption related issues as well as facilitating interpersonal relations and life adjustments. About Naomi
•
Naomi has dedicated her career and life to humanitarian work. With a background in Social Work and a master’s degree from East Carolina University, she has been helping families, individuals and working alongside community outreach programs for 14 years. Her experience encompasses adoption and foster care, hospice and palliative counseling, and providing treatment and stabilization techniques for patients with psychiatric needs with in-patient and out-patient programs. Naomi has volunteered in communities both locally and internationally and received her she received her 200 hour yoga teacher training in India as well as studied and practiced meditation extensively throughout Eastern Asia. These practices are implemented into the teachings of the mindfulness techniques used during psychotherapy. Naomi opened the doors to her private practice in 2017 and since has treated over 400 individuals as a psychotherapist. She continues to be involved in the surrounding needs of the people in Charleston. After living in the area for over fifteen years, she feels this city and the people who thrive in this diverse community make it home for her.
